Introduction

The return of students to the physical school has been a wonderful experience. It has been lovely to see students and colleagues reunited, working together again, and ‘enjoying being the best they can be’ once more.

The atmosphere has been calm and happy, as students re-establish themselves into their learning routines, whilst our stringent and robust Covid-secure procedures remain in place to ensure appropriate hygiene and social distancing is maintained in order to keep all risks to an absolute minimum.

In service of this, our 'Physical School' section of the website gives details about these procedures, routines and expectations. All students have undertaken a ‘Return to School Induction’ and are familiar with these aspects of school life.

The biggest change has been the introduction of lateral flow testing. Step one of this programme was on-site testing, which took place in our designated testing area, and was supervised by trained staff.

Step two in the testing programme is home-testing.  Students have again been trained in what to do and will be given step-by-step guides to support them.  Communication about the programme has been shared with our families via email, copies of which can be found within the letters page of our website.  Please also visit our Home Testing page for further details.

Should you need any further support during these challenging times, please contact your child’s achievement leader, or the main academy reception via info@harrisockendon.org.uk.
