Free School Meals

The Coronavirus pandemic has brought about huge change for everyone, both globally and locally within our own communities.  The impact of this is felt across all walks of life, and all social and economic backgrounds.  As a result, for some families this may bring about a period of unexpected economic strain.

For those families not currently claiming Free School Meals:-

In order to support those families who are currently finding themselves in a difficult financial situation, we'd like to bring to your attention the Free School Meals scheme that could be claimed for your child.  If you would like further information on the eligibility criteria and how to make a claim please visit the website of Thurrock Council.

During the Coronavirus outbreak the Government have temporarily extended the eligibility to Free School Meals to include some children of groups who have no recourse to public funds (NRPF). To find out if you may be eligible please click HERE.  If you think you are eligible and would like to make an application please click HERE.

For those families already claiming Free School Meals:-

Due to the current school closures, children who are currently receiving free school meals now obtain the funding for this via a voucher scheme that they redeem at supermarkets. This voucher is to the value of £15.00 per week per eligible child. These families will have received a registration email from a company called Edenred in order to access these vouchers.  If you have not yet claimed your voucher, please follow the link in the email sent by Edenred.  If you have not received the email but think you should have, please contact the academy.

Key Workers

We are pleased to be able to remain open for vulnerable children, and children of key workers.

Please click HERE to find out if you are eligible and how to request a place for your child.

The academy day for non-compulsory schooling will be:

Period 1 9.00am to 10.55am
Break 10.55am to 11.10am
Period 2 11.10am to 12.05pm
Lunch 12.05pm to 12.30pm
Period 3 12.30pm to 2.00pm

Please be assured that all unspent school meal balances will be returned to ParentPay Parent Accounts automatically, without the need for you to make an individual request.

This will be completed as part of our school closure process. To help our staff cope at this challenging time, we would ask that you do not make individual requests to the school which risks delaying completion of this process, unless you have an outstanding query with your child’s account.

We are liaising with ParentPay directly and expect to have this completed promptly. We will confirm when the funds have been returned to your ParentPay Parent Account, should you wish to then make a withdrawal.
