Business Studies *
Business Studies is an ever evolving and changing subject.
It is the fabric of life and has an impact on our daily activities. It is everywhere and is extremely relevant to how the world operates today and tomorrow due to innovations within businesses and the consumer need for them.
Think Apple and the creation of the I phone and the reliance that people have on it in their lives. Business Studies is one of the most studied subjects internationally, which reflects how broad it is. Business studies opens the study field to a focus of specialties such as accountancy, finance, organisation, human resources management and marketing.
But if you were not interested in a traditional business role, it also provides the opportunity to stand out from your competition; you may want to be a hairdresser, an artist or a plumber and by studying Business, you will gain the additional skill and knowledge to take your interest one step further.
You will be equipped with the tools to become entrepreneurial, being your own boss, and be able to carve out a career in something you love.
The Business Studies curriculum is developed in a way to inspire, motivate and enthuse students so that they can be successful in attainment, the world and their chosen careers. Within the curriculum we will focus on current affairs and ethical standards within different businesses including Amazon and Primark.
We will also focus on the development of technology, the role of the government, individual roles within a business and key entrepreneurs will be investigated including Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. This will provide students with rich knowledge so that they can take their place confidently in society and be fully prepared for university or the world of work.
