Mandatory Equipment

Having the correct equipment every day is an important part of being ready to learn. Students who arrive fully equipped can engage immediately with their learning and develop positive habits for success.

To support families with this, every student will be provided with a pencil case and stationery on their first day in September. A charge of £2.50 will be added to your ParentPay account to cover the cost of this.

The equipment pack will include:

Pencil Case

Black pens x 3

Green pen

Red pen

Pencils x 2

Eraser

Glue stick

Sharpener

30cm ruler

Highlighters x 3

Students will also need to bring:

  • A school bag large enough to hold A4 exercise books and folders without bending.
  • Full HAOC PE kit on days when they have PE
  • A scientific calculator – this is an essential piece of equipment for Mathematics and Science lessons. Families will need to purchase this separately. A suitable example is the RENUS Scientific Calculator, available from Amazon for £9.99, or alternatively Khalsa Schoolwear have a range of school equipment available to purchase via the link above.

The above items will be checked twice a week by your child’s form tutor in the morning during guided reading (Yr 7-9) and CRE (Yr 10). Students will be provided with an equipment mat where they will display their items. Any missing equipment will be noted by form tutors and deducted from positive points on Classcharts. Students will then be able to collect missing equipment from Base to ensure they are fully equipped for the day.

Additional Information

Please find attached a HAOC Quick Guide for Parents/Carers which contains useful information to help your child settle into the new school year, including links to apps, attendance and behaviour information, and how to get in touch.

If you have any questions or require any further support, please do not hesitate to contact your child's Achievement Leader, who will be happy to assist.

We look forward to welcoming your child back in September and hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer break.
