Yr 7 Parents' Evening
We will have a face-to-face parents evening for Yr 7 students and their families on Tuesday 9th December from 3.45pm – 7pm. Appointments should be booked with all your child’s teachers via School Cloud by clicking the following link: harrisockendon.schoolcloud.co.uk.
Booking will open on Wednesday 26th November at 5pm and close on Tuesday 9th December at 12.00pm.
Appointments will be limited to five minutes to ensure teachers are able to speak to as many families as possible. This will be a great opportunity to discuss your child’s academic progress. As the individual meetings will only be five minutes in duration, we recommend that the conversation is open, frank, and direct. It should focus on three key questions:
- What is my child currently doing well in this subject?
- What does my child need to do to improve in this subject?
- What do they need to do to demonstrate they are ‘working hard’ and make improvements for the rest of the academic year?
Once you have made all your appointments via SchoolCloud, please either print the appointment list or make a note of your appointments to make it easier to navigate on the evening. If you are unable to make an appointment with a particular teacher but would very much like to speak with them, please ask any member of staff present on the evening and they will provide you with their email address so you can contact them to make a separate appointment, either in person or over the phone.
Please note that our school SENCO Miss Ferdinando will also be present at the evening should you wish to speak with her, this will not require pre-booking.
A reminder that you can view your child’s most recent report on the ‘MyChildAtSchool’ app which was published prior to October half-term.
