Yr 11 Parents' Evening

We will have a face-to-face Parents’ Evening for Yr 11 students and their parents/carers on Tuesday 2nd December from 3.45 – 7.00pm.

Please go to harrisockendon.schoolcloud.co.uk where bookings open at 8.30am on Wednesday 26th November to make appointments with all your child’s teachers, these are available on a first come first served basis.

Please ensure you are on the ‘parent login’ section as opposed to ‘teacher’ or ‘administrator’ login before attempting to enter your details. Please also ensure you enter all details precisely as for it to work, they must match what we have on our system.

It will be a great opportunity to discuss your child’s academic progress and their general attitude to learning. As the individual meetings will only be five minutes in duration, we recommend that the conversation is open, frank, and direct. It should focus on two key questions:

1) What is their attitude to learning like and what do they need to improve for the rest of the academic year?

2) What do they need to do to ensure they continue to make progress and be successful?

Should you have any pastoral or support questions, please send an email in the first instance to the Achievement Leader or Pastoral Manager for Yr 11 via the details below. If you have any SEND enquiries, please email the school SENDCO Miss Ferdinando at a.ferdinando@harrisockendon.org.uk.

Academic progress reports

Your child’s report will be uploaded to ‘MyChildAtSchool’ in the reports section, we will send a further notification once it is available to be viewed. You will be able to discover how your child has performed in recent assessments, giving you a good indication of where your child is currently.

Reports will also be printed and ready for collection at parents evening to discuss which your child’s teachers.

The report will inform you of your child’s Attitude to Learning (ATL) in each subject. We strongly encourage you to discuss and compare each subject together as the report will provide an insight into a student’s overall performance across the curriculum. Ranking the subjects in order of best or worst ATL score will show which subjects your child may currently lack effort, which will help inform the conversation you have with their teacher. We then recommend you compare the difference between their assessment scores. Ranking this in order will then indicate where your child is excelling academically and where they may need some additional support or to work a little harder.

If you have any general questions regarding the parents evening, please email the Yr 11 team using the details below.
