In-year Admissions

An in-year admission application refers to a request for a place in Year 7 after the school year has already started in September, or for a place in any other year group. This is sometimes called an admission ‘outside the normal admission round’.

For Year 7, the number of places available is set by the Pupil Admission Number (PAN) for that year group. This number applies to all Year 7 applications, whether made before or after the start of the school year. If all available places have already been filled, we may not be able to offer a place right away.

If there are more applicants for a year group than there are places available, the Academy will need to limit the number of admissions to make sure we continue to provide high-quality education and use our resources effectively. In these cases, we use our oversubscription criteria to decide which children can be offered a place.

The same admission arrangements used for Year 7 at the start of the school year will also apply to these in-year applications.

We work with Thurrock Council as part of their coordinated in-year admissions process. This means that any in-year applications to our academy are handled through them.

If you would like to apply for an in-year place, please complete and return the In-Year Common Application Form (ICAF) to Thurrock Council. You can find the form and more information on the application process on the Thurrock Council website.
