Applying to Year 7

We understand that starting secondary school is one of the most significant milestones in a young person’s life, a moment filled with excitement, curiosity, and perhaps a few nerves.

At Harris Academy Ockendon, we are committed to making this transition not just smooth, but truly empowering.

Our priority is to ensure every student joining us in September feels confident, supported, and ready to thrive from day one. We work closely with families, providing clear and timely information to help them guide their children through this important change.

Together, we’re laying the foundation for a new and exciting chapter, one where our students can embrace fresh opportunities, and grow in confidence.

Applying for a place at Harris Academy Ockendon is done via Thurrock Local Authority.  Please click HERE to be taken to their website, where you will find information about how and when to apply, what to do if you wish to appeal and how to apply late or make an ‘in year’ application.  There is also information about catchment areas by address.

Our full admissions policy, with details of our admissions criteria, can be downloaded from the bottom of the page.
