Louise Ward

Assistant Principal

Mrs Ward grew up in Chadwell St Mary, Essex. She went on to study English Literature and American Studies at Winchester University, which included a period of study abroad. In 2001, she began her teaching career after graduating from the Institute of Education.

Over the years, Mrs Ward has held a number of leadership roles, including responsibilities for teaching and learning, departmental leadership, and assistant pastoral support. In 2013, she joined Ockendon, where she successfully established and led the A-Level English provision, delivering consistently outstanding outcomes.

She later became the Lead Practitioner for Literacy, playing a pivotal role in securing an outstanding rating for the academy in this area—as well as across the board during its most recent inspection.

Now, as Assistant Principal, Mrs Ward is excited to continue driving excellence. Her mission is to ensure that all students have access to high-quality teaching and the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
