Happy Vaisakhi to all celebrating. Vaisakhi not only symbolises the harvest festival but also the birth of the Khalsa Panth. It marks a pivotal moment in Sikh history when Guru Gobind Singh Ji founded the Khalsa, instilling principles of courage, equality, and selfless service. pic.twitter.com/oN2bgMrx3B

HAOC Charter

What does our Charter Mean?

Our Charter reflects our culture.

We want students to work hard, to retrieve the knowledge they have learnt, and make it stick. Students are encouraged to have a go first, before asking for help, thinking hard, and trying to answer questions in class, and completing all their homework and revision including making corrections.  All the while making sure their work is completed to the best of their ability and demonstrates the very best of themselves.

We believe all students have the right to feel safe and respected in our school community. We celebrate our differences and are kind to people who are different to us. We communicate respectfully with one another even when we disagree or are upset or angry.  If students are not OK, they know where to go to for help. They also have the confidence to tell an adult when they hear something that is unkind, discriminatory, or harmful.

We instil in our students, the importance of taking responsibility for their own actions, and for any interferences that may get in the way of their potential.  They learn to be self-disciplined in the real and virtual worlds and to accept any consequences that may arise.

Our aim is for all our students to enjoy being the best they can be.
